“Where God’s Word Can Change Your Life.”

Harvest International Training Center

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much time will HITC's program require?

A: HITC is a very intensive one or two year program. While in HITC you will be completely committed to school and other ministry needs within Church of the Harvest. This is a beautiful exposure to ministry, helping to develop yourself into the leader God wants and can use in any area of your life. Students are only permitted to work on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Q: Why can I work only two days a week (No more than 20 hours)?

A: As an HITC student, many hourly demands will be placed on you. Wednesday through Sunday you will be busy with classes, homework and other church ministry. It is important for you to take care of yourself and manage your time wisely. This work limit is placed on students for their own benefit.

Q: Do you have dormitory or Host Homes?

A: HITC does not have a dormitory (yet) but we will work with any student with housing needs. Our desire is to help them find housing which will best suit their needs (including a host home).

Q: Would the education I receive be beneficial to me if I do not plan to serve in full time ministry?

A: The training you will receive in HITC is foundational for proper equipping in all God has for your life! Whatever path you choose, whether it is ministry, marketplace, or other, the leadership, character and Bible training you receive will enable you to become all that God has called you to be no matter which direction life takes you.

Q: What if I meet someone while attending HITC, who I would like to pursue a romantic relationship with?
A: We do not allow pursuit of romantic relationships while in HITC. We believe this is a season of your life where you need to be completely focused on God, dedicated to living for Him. The time and relational demands of HITC are not compatible with the nature of any romantic relationship.

Q: Will I automatically be approved as a second year student if I have successfully completed the first year of HITC?
A: Just because a student completed Year I of HITC, it does not guarantee their application will be accepted to become a Year II student. We are looking for students who have demonstrated a desire and willingness to be molded and formed into the man or woman God has called them to be. Year II students will be selected based on character, teachability, responsiveness, leadership ability, and the call of God on their life by the pastoral staff of HITC and Church of the Harvest.

Q: What if I want to take a break in between my first and second year?
A: We recommend that you take this schooling in consecutive years. As with any application we take this on a case-by-case basis.

Q: If I am interested in HITC but am unable to enroll in the full program. Can I take a single class?
A: Yes. You will need to enroll as an independent student through LOGOS Christian College and you could take the courses we offer and we would submit your grade. You would be responsible for all fees as an independent student. For more information on this, please contact Katherine Galway at the Church of the Harvest office at 208-345-0981.

Q: What will HITC’s schedule look like for this coming school year?
A: HITC begins on 26 August 2009 with our three day, out-of-town Orientation Retreat. Classes begin 2 September 2009. Throughout the school year, students will enjoy a week off in the fall, the week of Thanksgiving, two weeks at Christmas, and the week of Spring Break. A complete calendar will soon be available on this website.
