HITC Team Biographies

Pastor Lee Galway

HITC Pastor and Director

Instructor

Youth Track Leader

Lee functions in the role of Elder at Church of the Harvest as well as Pastor and director of HITC.  He is pastor, counselor, and friend to each of the interns…not to mention being unsurpassed in go-cart racing.  A New Zealand native, Lee is the father of three beautiful children, Amber (14), David (12), and Hannah (10) and he is assisted in HITC by his wife Katherine.

In his spare time you might find him at Starbucks with an Earl Grey tea, reading books by Smith Wigglesworth, Charles Finney or LeRoy Eimes, riding his Harley (ok, so it’s just a Honda) or playing with his pug, Oliver. He also loves doing "daddy dates" with each of his children.

Lee’s vision for the future is to raise godly leaders to send worldwide, to build the local church, and to someday raise somebody from the dead.

“You need to be trained like a Swiss Army Knife, ready for anything.”  –Lee Galway

“Faith is the steam engine, fact is the boxcar, feelings are merely the caboose.” –Lee Galway

Pastor Mark Bryan

COH Senior Pastor

Instructor

As Senior Pastor of Church of the Harvest, Mark is the visionary behind all that HITC is and does.

His vision is to see a training program that raises leaders who will touch their city, nation and world. Pastor Mark is personally committed to pouring into the lives of the HITC students, seeing them become the man or woman God has called them to be.

He teaches classes, shares wise counsel, is a gifted storyteller and loves the interns like a father. As students will tell you, Pastor Mark is also an excellent Nordic skiing instructor. Students will heartily agree that there are few things more fun than an evening at Pastors Mark and DD’s home, swimming, playing ping-pong, watching a movie with 25 others crammed into their front room, or a enjoying any “fun and noisy” game.

Pastor Mark’s favorite activities include hunting, biking, camping, bowling, or anything else having to do with his amazing family.

Pastor Diane “DD” Bryan

Pastoral Track Co- Leader

Instructor

Pastor DD has a true pastor’s heart, every day and in everything she does. She is kind, wise, motherly, friendly, and always approachable. She truly loves the church and her family…and loves the church as her family. Often heard from Pastor DD, “My greatest joy is when we take hold of what God wants for our life because we see His plan. “ And also, “I love to see people launched into their destiny and seeing people come to Christ.”

As an instructor, Pastor DD has the ability, unlike any other, to allow her students experience a full range of emotions every time she teaches. She speaks with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, sometimes till you cry, and then she will tell stories of her own experiences and have every person falling out of their chairs in laughter.

She loves people and music and people and praying and people and laughing….with people…and shopping….and people….

Wisdom from Pastor DD:

“He who waters will also be watered himself (Prov. 11:25).” We here at HITC take that to mean that water fights are completely biblical.

Pastor David Argon

Pastoral Track Co-Leader

Instructor

Pastor David won a place in the hearts of every intern with his love for the Bible, prayer and people.  He has a wonderful wife, Jessica, who works alongside him in all he does, and three beautiful daughters, Olivia (7), Emily (5) and Elsie (2).

If you feel like getting him a Starbucks drink, you will always win him over with an Iced Green Tea Latte. In his spare time he loves to play softball with his team, “David’s Mighty Men”, and spend time with his family watching “fun” movies. He’s also been known to drive a jet ski like a wild man on Payette Lake. Intensity and passion mark every part of Pastor Dave’s life, whether it's watercraft maneuvering or preaching with “fire in his bones.” “Halfway” is not a word in Pastor Dave’s vocabulary.

“That’s good doctrine right there!” –Pastor David Argon

Pastor Kari Bryan

Worship Track Leader

Instructor

When asked what comes to mind when they think of Pastor Kari, the interns will give lots of answers. They range from “fun” to "best friend" to "bright pink daisies” to “wholehearted.” And indeed these do reflect this awesome woman!

At HITC, Kari oversees both Youth and Worship tracks as well as being a gifted instructor, not to mention that she is an up-and-coming music artist. To do all she does, Kari has a wide array of abilities, not to mention a good day planner. Yet no matter how busy life gets, Pastor Kari handles everything with grace and a “hupa girl”* attitude.

She is a living example of how God can use a single person who is passionate for and fully dedicated to Him. Her life is an example to follow, inspiring and challenging young and old wherever she goes.

“Y’all” is a word and is totally appropriate for Speech class." – Kari Bryan

*Hupomone: steadfastness, constancy and endurance even during difficult or challenging situations (Heb 10:36).

Katherine "Kit" Galway

Administrative Assistant to HITC Director

HITC, Administration & Missions Track Leader

As wife of the Director, Katherine’s role in HITC came naturally, but the skills that she has brought to the school are many and far reaching.

Katherine describes herself as a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations.  This is a position that requires great love and dedication, prayer and vision, and the ability to see beyond the now in order to impart faith and courage into others...this position is also known as “Mom”.

Indeed, she is not only an incredible wife and mother in her own home, but she has stepped into the role of Mom for many of the interns as well.

Katherine keeps the assignments and calendar in order, helps Lee stay sane amid a flurry of emails regarding homework, drives her children to volleyball and football practice, and even manages to make a superb Turkey Pot Pie all in the same day.

“Katherine characterizes strength and encouragement.  She is the foot that pushes the petal to the metal, the engine of the train, the wind beneath our wings.” –Stephanie LaFramboise (Intern 2009)

“Plan your work, then be willing to WORK your plan.” –Katherine Galway

Jonathan Bryan

Children's Track Leader

Jonathan oozes creativity, exuberance, and love for people. This creativity is fully seen through his artistic and musical abilities (he’s also an up-and-coming music artist). His exuberance often flows from his experience as Children’s Director at Church of the Harvest. Jonathan is an inspired story-teller as well as a conversationalist extraordinaire. In fact, with his ability to speak to the young child, the wild teen, or the distinguished businessman you will find few better communicators. Jonathan is definitely a man worth knowing and his friendship worth cultivating.

Wisdom from Jonathan:
Pay attention to what you say AND how you say it: your intended meaning is worth 5%, how it is perceived by the person who hears it is worth 95%.

HITC stands for “Hi, I take coffee.”
