New Heart Christian Ministries International (NHCMI)- Boise, Idaho
New Heart Christian Ministries International is a fairly new church made up of immigrants and Americans. The congregation, about 200 members, represents a variety of nations including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo Brazzaville, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya, Togo, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Ethiopia, Zambia, Haiti, Liberia, Bahamas and the USA.
The cross-cultural aspect of the church makes it so attractive to many people, Americans as well as immigrants. Our vision does consist of commitment to Christ as the head of the Church, His Body and His Work. New Heart intends to spread out the gospel of the Lord Jesus by the missionary role it plays to Americans, by being a connecting point for mission work abroad and by reaching out in the community particularly to the refugees.
Being a multi-cultural in nature, New Heart faces many challenges such as the language, the socio-economic and the cultural adaptation. However, the longing for a spiritual revival has led to an amazing growth that can only be attributed to the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit. Spiritual needs are being met and a number of social issues.
Services are uniquely held in English with translation in Swahili. The worship music is particularly expressed in several languages from English, French, Zulu, Shona, Swahili, Kirundi, Lingala, Bemba and Tshiluba. New Heart is friendly church with down to earth members. Donald and Julienne Batubenga formed this church in Boise from the scratch in 2004; evolving from a bible study they began in 1999 with around 5 t0 10 people in their apartment.
Its involvement in the community can also be seen in its participation in charitable fundraisers for Boise Rescue Mission, Free Wheel Chair Mission, Mission Aviation Fellowship and other African mission projects.
Our strength resides into the spirit of prayer, faith in Christ and unity of the believers. And our boldness is rooted into the covenantal promises of God. Each week we meet on Friday for intercessory prayer at 6:30pm and Saturday at 4:30pm for our main worship service at 300 N. Latah street in Boise.
