Pastor Bill & JoAnne Richter
My wife, JoAnne, and I both grew up in Ontario, Oregon. Although we knew each other growing up, it wasn’t until after we were saved in 1975 and started going to church that we were reacquainted and fell in love. We were married on April 15, 1978 and we have been blessed to have one son named John, who is now nineteen years old.
Even before we were married, JoAnne and I chose to set ourselves aside for the ministry because we wanted to do great things for God. During our time in Ontario, we served alongside of our pastors. We were involved in many areas of the church, including overseeing children’s ministry, teaching adult classes, and leading Bible studies. In 1985 we moved to Portland, Oregon, where I attended Portland Bible College and earned a BA in Theology.
We have been with Church of the Harvest since the beginning in 1996. We put our shoulders to the plow and committed ourselves to being a strength to the pastors and to be builders in what God wanted to do here in Boise. We love serving with Pastors Mark and DD and count it a privilege and honor to be a part of their leadership team. Since the inception of the church, we have found ourselves in all areas of ministry. From children’s ministry to teaching adult classes, Encounters, men’s and women’s retreats, small groups, connection ministry and short term mission trips. I was able to be a part of establishing Harvest International Training Center in the fall of 2007. HITC is a school where men and women are preparing to do the work of the Lord. Our passion is to touch people’s hearts – people of all ages and all walks of life – with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and go to all the nations of the world.
